This page is designed to help you (the customer) make conscious decisions when considering a particular venue/site for your event. The venues/sites and names listed below represent those that I have had the opportunity to work extensively with over the last 10 years in different capacities.

Venues I recommend and why:
The Hawthorne Inn - Catherine Lovell: Director of Banquets and Catering (336) 777-3000
Catherine is known for running an extremely tight ship and has some of the best servers and banquet folks working for her. They genuinely care about all of their clients and "Customer Service" is part of the staff's training. In-House catering, food preparation and linen rentals are a plus, as well as being able to handle more than one event at a time. The Hawthorne Inn's Wedding Timetable Planner is available by clicking here. The hotel has two conference/ballrooms. The lower level Poplar Room is ideal for smaller events and company parties, with the ability to seat up to 120 people and enough room to accomodate a Multi-media presentation or DJ. The upper level Sycamore Ballroom is a personal favorite of mine to play, due to the high ceilings, outstanding acoustics, the ability to accomodate a large audience of up to 220 people and any type of presentation from bands, to DJ's, to multi-media presentations to Sales conferences.

The M.C Benton Convention Center, Marriott and Embassy Suites Downtown Winston-Salem -

The Marriott and Embassy Suites along with the M.C. Benton Convention center in downtown Winston-Salem is the Premier convention and meeting facility in town. Terri Barber, Director of Banquets & Catering has a keen sense of knowing how to make all customers feel special. This venue is now managed by The Noble Investment Group, Atlanta, and their motto is "Where The Customer Comes First". They prove this fact everyday. In-House catering, Food Preparation & Linens are a plus, as well as being able to handle numerous events at one time.

Weddings At Pine BrookPine Brook Country Club, located in the northwestern corner of Forsyth county, long known for the quality of its golf experience, also provides an ideal setting for all your bridal events. Venues and Sites I Strongly Recommend AGAINST and why:
Magnolia Manor in Colfax, NC
Notorious for trying to schedule more than one event (Weddings & Receptions in particular) in one day with very little turn around time between events. This causes undue stress on clients that have been told that they are guaranteed as much time as needed for set-up and decorating.
No In-House Food Prep, No Linen Rental, No In-House staff to oversee/manage events booked into the venue. Rental prices for this venue are similar to those listed above.
